Convert audio to OGG

Free, no sign-up, and nothing is uploaded.
Worked example
OGG Vorbis is the patent-free format that games and open-source software settled on.
| Extension | .ogg |
|---|---|
| MIME type | audio/ogg |
| Playback | Limited support |
| From MP4 without re-encoding | No |
| Audio codec | libvorbis |
The equivalent command
ffmpeg -i holiday-clip.mp4 -vn -c:a libvorbis -b:a 192k -threads 1 -y out-holiday-clip.ogg
This is exactly what runs in the browser. Copy it to run the same job locally on a file too large for a tab.
Why it matters
Vorbis was the free alternative to MP3 for many years, and a great deal of game audio is still shipped in it. Technically Opus has superseded it — same lineage, better at every bitrate — so new work should generally use Opus. OGG remains the answer when a specific engine or toolchain expects it.
