Trim an audio file
Open the studio
Free, no sign-up, and nothing is uploaded.
Worked example
Audio trimming runs on the browser's own decoder, so it needs no download and finishes in moments.
| Engine download | none |
|---|---|
| Output format | WAV (PCM) |
| Runs in | Web Audio API |
Because the browser already ships a decoder for MP3, AAC, FLAC, Opus and WAV, this needs no WebAssembly and no download. It is effectively instant.
Why it matters
The browser already contains decoders for every common audio format, and a WAV encoder is a few dozen lines of header writing. That combination covers trimming, fading, mono-folding and resampling without a single byte of WebAssembly — which is why this tool is instant where the video tools need a 31 MB engine first.
What this needs
Nothing. This runs on the browser's own audio decoder, so there is no engine download at all.
